Women’s Body Positive Hiking – Wednesday Wanderings at Lysterfield
Description
The outdoors don’t care about your size, your speed or your fitness, and neither do we!
100% body positive, no focus on weightloss. Just having fun in the outdoors, with new friends, cause we can! We want to inspire people. We want someone to look at us and say because of you I didn’t give up.
Join us for a leisurely walk exploring the tracks around Lysterfield Lake. Every week is different. You are guaranteed to see Kangaroos – we always come across other interesting things too – turtles / cash / glasses/ lights. Free for paid members, $10 (pay online) for casuals. This hike is on well formed, marked trails, mostly flat, with some undulations. We will walk for 1.5-2hrs in total, with tons of photo, drink and breather stops.
If you are wondering if you’re fit enough for this hike, the answer is YES! We all need to start somewhere and this is a great place to start – this is an excellent hike for beginners.
This hike is beginner friendly, for those without specific mobility concerns, and always paced at the slowest in the group, to ensure no one is left behind. This hike usually takes between 1.5-2.0hrs to complete. The trails may be compacted gravel, or dirt, with some stairs, short hills, or small obstacles. This walk is absolutely achievable for all beginners.
**You will need a head torch for this hike. Cheap ones are available for $10 at Kmart or Anaconda, or contact Sarah as she has a couple of spares***
Please RSVP via Meetup (takes a few minutes to join) so that we know to expect you! https://www.meetup.com/Escaping-Your-Comfort-Zone-Body-Positive-Womens-Hiking/events/
