Eastern Curlew Project: Lee Point, Darwin

Description

Conservation Volunteers Australia will be helping to restore important habitat to protect the critically endangered eastern curlew (Numenius madagascariensis), a large wading shorebird reaching up to 66cm tall. We will be carrying out different restoration activities to improve the habitat and doing bird surveys to monitor the eastern curlew population at Lee Point Reserve. Depending on the time of year, you might see other migratory bird species, waders and nesting turtles on the beach.

We meet at the Conservation Volunteers Australia Darwin office and drive you out to the site at Lee Point. This event runs on a Thursday. Online bookings are essential (visit our website https://bookings.conservationvolunteers.org and click on NT). Please call the office (08) 8981 3206 or email darwin@cva.org.au if you would like any further information about an upcoming project:

May 10, 17 (last two projects of 2018!)
