Conservation Mini Break with NSW Parks and Wildlife Service!
Description
Come and join Conservation Volunteers Australia on a weekend away as we assist NSW NPWS with a revegetation project in Nuggetty State Conservation Area, which is the home of a variety of wildlife such as powerful owls, sugar gliders, and spotted-tailed quolls.
By revegetating parts of the Area we will be creating habitat for these animals, improving the health of the bush there, and improving the health of the Tuena Creek which runs through the Conservation Area.
We will be staying in NPWS accommodation in the nearby Abercrombie Conservation Reserve near the Abercrombie Caves, a series of limestone arch caves. The project will leave Canberra around lunch time on Friday the 2nd and will return to Canberra on Sunday the 4th in the late afternoon.
This project will incur a small cost ($40) to cover food and accommodation at Abercrombie Caves.
Simply register your interest and we’ll be in touch.
Useful Information
We will be leaving from Turner on Friday at 1pm and will return on Sunday by 4pm.
You will need to bring your sleeping bag, your stuff for a weekend away, and a drink bottle. Sensible outdoor clothes are mandatory: boots or sturdy runners, long trousers and sleeves, and a hat.
