7 Senses Street Day
The national 7 Senses Street Day movement saw residents temporarily transform their streets into spaces designed to engage our seven human senses, with the hope that these events would inspire increased community participation in creating safer, more playful, inclusive streets:
“Our residential streets are now traffic channels – 75 per cent of the space between my front fence and the neighbour’s fence across the street is dedicated to the car.” Mr Volbert, a landscape architect, explained.
This is the second year running for the 7 Senses Street Day, part of 7 Senses awareness month. More than 500 people attended Street Day events held in Queensland, NSW and Western Australia.
Check out this video from the WA team – the kids were clearly thrilled with their efforts!
