Tree Planting at Point Danger Coastal Reserve
Description
Stretching right along the coast line, this nature reserve contains a rare coastal heath habitat. The unique combination of the Southern Ocean and the Bonnie Upwelling create an abundance of local wildlife including a nearby Gannet colony and marine mammals like seals and whales. Help protect and restore this beautiful heathland through planting a variety of native grasses and shrubs.
You will be contributing to a multi-state initiative to restore and connect reserves from the ocean to the outback through Habitat 141. Tree plantings will be taking place at the beautiful Point Danger Coastal Reserve.
A relatively good level of fitness is required as the activities will be physical.
Useful Information
Activities may be physical so a moderate level of fitness is required. You will need to wear strong work boots, preferably with a steel toe, long pants, long sleeves, a wide-brimmed hat and clothing suitable for wet weather. Please also take a water bottle, lunch and sunscreen.
Transport will be available to the project site from Warrnambool and Portland. Backpacker- style accommodation can be organised if overnight stay requested.
