Swift Pilates is not your regular Pilates session. Swift’s specially designed sessions will help you run faster, for longer and reduce niggling pains and injuries. Our sessions use a combination of Pilates, Yoga and Barre to even-up muscle imbalances, strengthen your deep core muscles and ensure alignment in your body to keep you pain-free. The only Pilates of it’s kind, Swift is located where and when you run, making it easy to tone-up and cool-down in only 30 minutes.

Starting with dynamic stretches to keep you loose and limber, we then move on to a range of pilates exercises using body weight, squeeze balls and therabands for resistance training and muscle strengthening. Our sessions finish with movements that target the muscles and ligaments that are specifically troublesome to runners. Our sessions are varied and dynamic, but most of all they are great fun.

Tacking on a 30 minute Swift Pilates session at the end of your run just 2 x a week and you’ll see a difference in your posture, strength and flexibility in the first few weeks. You’ll also find that you’ll be less prone to running injuries. You’ll run with better form, faster, for longer and with less pain.

Swift runs sessions every half hour Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday evenings and Sunday Mornings. We are located at one of Melbourne’s best running tracks – Princes Park, Carlton.

Who is Swift Pilates For?
Swift Pilates is for people who like to run, but hate to stretch. People who are pressed for time, those who know they need to vary their exercise routine but can’t be bothered with classes and bootcamps. Swift is for anyone who wants to try Pilates without forking out ridiculous membership/class fees or wasting time commuting to a studio, or may have ongoing niggling pains that keep them from running from time to time and want to have a certified professional help them stay injury free.

What To Wear
Loose or stretchy clothes that are comfortable, cool and allow you to move around comfortably. Our sessions are done barefoot so you can really stretch those feet and toes.
If you’d like to bring a small towel or water bottle, you are welcome to. Refreshing lemon water and fruit is available free at the sessions. There are toilets in the park if you need to change and you may leave your bag inside our cart for safekeeping during your session. Make sure to turn your phone off and keep your valuables near you at your mat.

How Often to Come
For Flexibility, General Strength and Injury Prevention
We recommend attending 2 sessions per week, directly after your run/walk/ride or other cardio exercise. Please space the cardio sessions out during the week to allow your body to recover and rejuvenate.

For Weight Loss, Fitness and Strength
This is all dependant on what you are training for. Swift Pilates sessions are developed to tone, stretch and strengthen your body directly after you run. For optimum strength and fitness it’s best you join us after every run. This ensures you have a well rounded workout with the best results.

For Peace of Mind and Well being
The well documented anti-depressant and anxiety reducing effects of exercise last about 24 hours, so your mental wellbeing will be greatest with a daily practice.

Drop-In Sessions
Please Join! You are more than welcome to drop into any of our sessions. Just bring $10 cash on the day and be sure to fill out a waiver form (provided) before you claim a mat. If the class is fully booked, you may still be able join. Please wait for 5 minutes into the class and if there’s still a free mat after that, you are more than welcome to take their spot in the class.
