Rottnest Island Restoration Project

Description

Rottnest Island is an A-Class Reserve located 18km off the coast of Fremantle & Perth. It contains remnant vegetation, has Marine Sanctuary zones and boasts many historical sites.

Come for a break on this popular island and help to preserve this iconic spot. The teams head over to Rottnest on the first ferry on Monday morning and head back to Fremantle Friday afternoon. They stay in dorm style accommodation and everyone helps with the cooking and cleaning. We have a vehicle on the island and team travel around helping with various conservation activities including fencing, planting, nursery work, dune rehabilitation, green stock maintenance and seawall painting.

These activities encourage the ongoing upkeep of this heritage effort, increase the success rate of previously planted coastal vegetation, enhance the biodiversity of flora species, prevent erosion and assist with the overall ecological health of the island ecosystem.

A small cost is required to assist with transport, food and accommodation. CONCESSION RATES AVAILABLE Places are limited so contact us quick for more information!!!
