School holidays are the perfect time to get outside and create life-long memories in the magnificent Perth weather!

Nature Play Out Days, held during school holidays, offer families a chance to get their kids outside and mucking around. All of the activities are designed to be self-guided and encourage children to lead the way, and include elements of creativity, problem solving, adventure and fun in the wonderful setting of Matilda Bay Reserve. Build a fort the size of your house, wade through the shallows of the river to see what you can find, make and fly a kite, enjoy mud pies with Educated By Nature – everyone is welcome to come and enjoy.

Nature Play WA’s mission is to get kids outdoors and playing every day, so it is important that their events reflect this mission. This event is a showcase of some of the amazing experiences you can have everyday.

Useful Information

Parents/caregivers are responsible for their kids at all times and actively encouraged to get involved. There won’t be a sausage sizzle at this event, please feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy the Matilda Bay reserve before or after your session.

Afternoon and morning sessions available.

$7.50 per child, babies under 1 year are free, there’s also a 50% discount if you are a Friend of Nature Play WA.

The plan is to play in rain or shine so please come prepared for the weather that day. Perth often has four seasons in one day so it is important to be prepared!

A few suggestions:

Sunhat and Sunscreen (these are a must!)
Rashie or loose long sleeve top to keep the sun off
Swimmers and towel for those who want a dip in the river
Spare change of clothes
Drink bottle with water and snacks (consider some ice to keep it cool, its hot work playing!)
Picnic rug
