Leap into Nature @ Plenty Gorge Park

Description

Leap into Nature will be visiting Plenty Gorge Park.  We will be doing a short bushwalk to view the Plenty River Gorge and the great Blue Lake.  We will then head back up to the Yellow Gum Recreation Area for a morning tea picnic, nature play and nature-based craft activities.

Meeting place is Yellow Gum Recreation Area. Coming from Melbourne on Yan Yean Road, turn left into Memorial Drive. Continue on Memorial Drive and turn left into Goldsworthy Lane, following signpost to Yellow Gum Park. Continue on this partly unsealed road to the park entrance gates. Pass through the gates and drive around to the car park.

Our bushwalk will be approximately 2 km return from the Yellow Gum car park. It is a reasonably steep decline down to the Lake viewing area, tracks are pram friendly – it is just a bit of a push coming back up. The walk is generally recommended for 3+ year old children. Younger children can be carried in a baby carrier or pram – if you are up for the exercise :-).

Nature discovery ‘tools/equipment’ and craft activities will be provided for the children.

To be a regular participant of our Leap into Nature adventures, it is required that you become a Playgroup Victoria member to ensure the group is covered for insurance.
