Dawn Fraser Swimming Pool, Balmain

Description

The Dawn Fraser Baths is an outdoor tidal flow salt water pool, and the oldest swimming pool and club in Australia, dating back to the 1880s.

At low tide there’s a beach for the children to build sandcastles.

General water temperature between October and April is 19°C – 23°C.

There’s a kiosk for drinks and snacks.

Useful Information

Water Quality – The Dawn Fraser Baths is a harbour pool. The condition of the harbour water is reported daily by Harbourwatch. After heavy rain, our pool, like other swimming locations such as beaches, may be closed if the water quality is not to standard. The pool is only re-opened after water quality has been approved by Harbourwatch.

Opening Times:

Saturday 5th October 2013 to Sunday 6th April 2014*.

October – November 7:15am – 6:30pm
December – Febuary 6:45am – 7:00pm
March – April 7:15am – 6:30pm

Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.

* Water quality permitting, if there has been recent heavy rain please call the Centre.
