Conservation Volunteers – Help Keep Australia Beautiful Weekend, Cannington

Description

Have you ever thrown an apple core from your car window onto a roadside with the thought, ‘It will decompose’ or, ‘the birds will eat it’? In fact, organic litter can take months to breakdown in the environment and as well as attracting animals to the dangerous roadside, ingesting decomposing rubbish can be harmful to pets and wildlife. Litter degradability depends on a range of factors including climate and conditions. For example glass bottles take one to two million years to breakdown and an orange peel can take up to two years!

Join Conservation Volunteers as we clean up this special spot in Cannington!

We offer a free pick-up from Pioneer Reserve, on the corner of Short St and Packenham Rd in Fremantle. Or meet us onsite at 9am. Please call our office on (08) 9335 2777 for location details.
