Conservation Volunteers – Beach Scrub activities Townsville and Beyond
Description
The Beach Scrub Project aims to promote conservation of beach scrub semi-evergreen vine thickets, an endangered ecosystem that’s crucial for reducing erosion and preserving strong ecological diversity. Join the team and explore areas up and down the coast from Townsville. You will get to see out of the way places and help conserve these unique areas by collecting rubbish and removing invasive weeds.
Some projects are daily, meet at our office at Pallarenda and enjoy a day or two in the great outdoors.
Various dates contact the office for more details.
Useful Information
What you need to bring and wear – strong work boots (preferably with a steel toe), long pants, long sleeves, gardening gloves, a wide brimmed hat and waterproof jacket (if it’s a wet day). Please take with you a water bottle, your lunch and sunscreen.
