Clean Up Australia Day at Brookfield Conservation Park

Description

Would you love to get away from the city for the day?   We invite you to join our team for a day-trip out to Brookfield Conservation Park.

We will be contributing to the Clean Up Australia Day effort by tackling the roadside vegetation area along the Parks frontage. This will be a great chance to keep that pesky rubbish out of the Park and damaging the special roadside vegetation.

And you will have a chnace to be in the running for the ‘Most Unusual Object Found Prize

There will be a bus departing from our Adelaide office at 9am, returning at 3pm

Or you can meet onsite – at the ‘Pull-In’ about a km from the entrance to Brookfield at 10.45am. We will finish around 12.45pm, then we can enjoy our lunch under the shady trees.

Please wear appropriate clothing – long trousers (not leggings!) and long sleeved shirt, hat and good strong covered shoes, bring a water bottle and your lunch/snacks.

CVA will supply plenty of water, sunblock, gloves, Sunrise Bakery Lamingtons and Prizes!

Brookfield Conservation Park is part research station, in line with the wishes of those who bequeathed it to the state some years ago.  The Park is now managed by Conservation Volunteers in a unique arrangement that gives volunteers the opportunity to see parts of the park that are not open to the public. Research into grazing pressure and native grasses is important to understand pressures on our Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat.

Look out for the native Australian animals including the wombats, red and grey kangaroos, emus, echidnas, malleefowl, beautiful parrots and many other native species.

Unfortunately the Park will be closed whilst we are there (for Feral Animal Control) but you will have ample opportunity to enjoy its beauty at its frontage.
