Botanic Gardens Open Day

Description

On Sunday 29 May, Wellington Shire Council and Friends of Sale Botanic Gardens will host a community picnic at Sale Botanic Gardens to celebrate the important role botanic gardens play in botanic education, recreation and as community spaces. Home too many trees of significance, including an olive tree dating back to 1881, a tour map of the trees will be given to community members wishing to learn about them all. A community barbecue, scones and tea, coffee van, live music, raffle and other activities including self-guided walks, basket weaving and Council’s Sustainability Trailer will be on offer. Residents will also be encouraged to have their say on a new, iconic landscape design for the Sale Botanic Gardens. The community picnic will run from 10.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday 29 May.
