Conservation Volunteers – Beach Scrub activities Bowen and Beyond
Description
Join us on our Beach scrub Projects to protect and enhance this endangered ecosystem, one dune back from the beaches. We are assisting local community in Bowen and Cape Upstart ( an area you can only get to with CVA). Come for a day or two in Bowen, or camp with us at Cape Upstart.
Activities will include removing invasive weeds so that the native species can remerge, and rubbish collection. There is plenty of time to look at the stars and do other recreational activities.
You can depart from Townsville or meet us in Bowen, or on the highway at Guthalungra near Cape Upstart.
There are various dates from Feb to May 2018.
Useful Information
What you need to bring and wear – strong work boots (preferably with a steel toe), long pants, long sleeves, gardening gloves, a wide brimmed hat and waterproof jacket (if it’s a wet day). Please take with you a water bottle, your lunch and sunscreen.
