Prospect Creek Riparian Restoration, Yennora NSW
Description
Prospect Creek runs for 26km from Prospect Reservoir into Georges River. It has been recognised as having a high conservation significance due to the presence of endangered ecological communities including River Flat Eucalypt Forest, regionally significant flora and fauna species and its essential function as a wildlife corridor. It is under threat from weed infestation, land clearing, rubbish dumping and industry.
We are working in partnership with Cumberland Council to provide the opportunity for locals to become involved in the enhancement and protection of the endangered River Flat Eucalypt Forest ecological community. Our work will focus on maintenance of previously planted native vegetation, weed removal, planting of native plants and flora and fauna surveying to improve the health and beauty of this invaluable waterway and wildlife corridor.
