Earth Assist School Holiday Program July 2016
Description
Rio Tinto Earth Assist is a fully funded FREE program for schools, designed to get students out into the environment and onto real conservation projects. Rio Tinto Earth Assist is run by Conservation Volunteers with the support of the Rio Tinto Community Investment Fund. The program is a partnership with the Department of Parks & Wildlife and the Department of Education.
Rio Tinto Earth Assist offers daily activities during the school holidays, bringing individual students from different schools together on conservation projects around the Perth metropolitan area.
Transport is provided and students are driven to a conservation site where they undertake activities such as planting and land maintenance, various wildlife surveys, and bush walks. Students will gain a greater understanding of our environment and will learn how to ensure a sustainable future.
Organise a group or come solo, join us for just one day or more, but whichever way we guarantee you will make new friends and have fun.
This program runs every Tuesday—Friday every week of the school holidays.
Useful Information
For all volunteering activities, volunteers must wear enclosed footwear, long trousers, long sleeved shirts and broad brimmed.
