Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Melbourne

Description

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria plays a leading role in the conservation of plants through biodiversity research, programs to protect rare and threatened plants, and the study of habitats. This work is supported by education and visitor programs about the importance of plants to life.

More than 10,000 plant species from around the world are presented in a kaleidoscope of colour and texture. Sweeping lawns, tranquil lakes and majestic trees are home to an amazing range of wildlife. Visitors to the gardens can enjoy walking, picnicking, seeing a myriad of different plant species from all over the world, and even a ride on a punt on the ornamental lake (complete with ducks).

There’s so much to see and do at the botanic gardens, located in the heart of Melbourne.
