Gurrung Sports Carnival

Description

The 2015 Gurrung Sports Carnival (formerly the West Arnhem Sports Carnival) will be held in conjunction with the Mahbilil Festival in Jabiru -right in the heart of the magnificent Kakadu National Park -on the 4th and 5th of September 2015.

The Gurrung Sports Carnival is the highlight on the annual sporting calendar in the West Arnhem region. This year men and women’s basketball and men’s AFL teams – with a focus on 16-25 year olds – from communities including Jabiru, Maningrida, Warruwi, Minjilang, Pine Creek, Daly River and Gunbalanya will converge on Jabiru for the carnival.

West Arnhem Regional Council provides a range of programs and services to residents of West Arnhem communities, including youth focussed sport and recreation activities like the Gurrung Sports Carnival.
