Volunteer to improve the sand dunes around Barwon Heads
Join Conservation Volunteers Australia around the beautiful areas of Barwon Heads to remove invasive weeds before they take over the threatened Coastal Moonah Woodlands that dominate this area. By tackling the weeds now we will help prevent them being spread along the coast on people’s shoes, clothes, car and pets.
Learn weed identification and removal skills, meet like-minded individuals who also have a keen interest in their local environment, upgrade your resume with volunteering experience – so many great reasons to join us for some fun in the spring sunshine!
Transport provided from South Geelong leaving at 8.00am and returning 4.00pm.
If you live local you can meet at Presidents Park by prior arrangement with our office.
Volunteers need to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and boots or sturdy shoes. It is also recommended that volunteers bring and use a broad-brimmed hat, sun-screen and tropical-strength insect repellent.
Also, don’t forget to bring a packed lunch, snacks and drink bottle.
Tools and safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, sunscreen etc
